AITO 2016 Plein Air Festival

I have just come back home from Ireland where I have taken part in the Art in the Open 2016 plein air festival. It's been a fantastic week! I have met so many nice people and beautiful artists, made some great friends, gave two workshops and won Bronze! I will be posting the paintings I have done in Ireland and the photographs from our Paint Outs during the next week or two. Peonies

I painted this scene from life in our living room. It was a very enjoyable painting session even though the lighting conditions were a bit challenging. Gouache on strathmore grey paper for mixed media. Approx. 9x8 in. The only source of light was a warm light table lamp. I had to use my small portable led lights to illuminate the painting because any additional source of light would have affected the lighting of the scene.
