The Green Sea

I did this seascape from a sketch done in Cornwall, UK about two years ago.
 Visiting a small Cornish fishing village called Mevagissey I was amazed by the color of the sea and stopped to capture all those different shades of green and turquoise in a sketch. There was also a beautiful fishing port there. Maybe someday I will paint it too.


Gouache on acid free Arches 140 lb paper mounted on sealed cardboard.

Peonies

I painted this scene from life in our living room. It was a very enjoyable painting session even though the lighting conditions were a bit challenging. Gouache on strathmore grey paper for mixed media. Approx. 9x8 in. The only source of light was a warm light table lamp. I had to use my small portable led lights to illuminate the painting because any additional source of light would have affected the lighting of the scene.
